I Currently have two Female Leopard Gecko's, a Hypo Tangerine(Denali), and a Lavender (Jakari). I am currently surveying websites to see what would be the best morph to buy for breeding. I currently borrow an Interesting patterned male (from a close friend)who is a proven breeder. Last year I bred him several times to Jakari, but i have found him to be too small for the job, since both of my females are quite large. At the end of this year i will either be buying a new expensive male or keeping two nice looking males from this years product. Does anybody have any suggestions for such an amateur like me??? clown

Well I'm just starting out with breeding myself, but it sounds like you have a pair of semi- giant ladies.
I would certainly recommend viewing the geckos in person when choosing your male,so you get a better idea of size. As for morph, personally i'd choose something similar, but a little different. A tangerine, or hypo might suit, but if they're just pets, it should always be the one you fall in love with most Wink
My current breeding pair is a choc albino and a tremper tangerine albino. They are very closly matched in size, and in harem setup they get on great.

how "large" are your females ? sometimes the first year they don't give off as many offspring because its there first year . I currently breed a 50 gram male to 3 females ranging from 55 to 72 grams (trying to bring the 55 grams weicht up to at least a 65 before i breed her) and they seem to work out great....the females also lose up to 30 grams around the end of breeding season anyway so they end up weighing about the same

for morphs i would personally go with a carrot tail as the trait would look great with both those morphs . a blizzard might produce soom cool looking offspring as well . I would find a local reptile show and go check out what they have there .

I would buy a Giant male to breed w/ of whatever morph you like best. The morph really depends on what type of gecko's your wanting to produce. You could go w/ a co-dom or Dom. morph- ex) Co-Dom Mack Snows or Dom. as in the Enigmas or get a pattern trait ex) Jungle, Stripe, Reverse Stripe,Red Stripe, also Gaint and Super Gaints are co- dom. Co-dom means that they produce a Super form. and that these morphs can be produced only coming from one side and the tang. color from the females can be passed down as well. I highly suggest anything Giant for size b/c your 2 females wont be able to bully him around. Also since your females are large the offspring produced by them should also be large, which is really cool, size also gets passed down into your offspring, so by breeding a male of smaller size your gecko's size wont be as big and impressive, as breeding them to a Giant or Super Giant Jungle Mack Snow for example. Or a Giant Reverse Stripe, Carrot Head, Carrot Tail, Tremper, your offspring will all be Het for Tremper Albino but should show Giant, Carrot Head and Carrot Tail, Reverse Stripe, and Tang. Traits. By using a Super Giant, you should produce all 100% Giants and using a Gaint you'll get 50% Gaints. With big females your non-giants will be larger then most though too.
