Hey there,
I'm just starting to learn about geckos. I've only the one.
When I see abbreviations beside breed of geckos such as S.H.C.T it makes me curious. I know it means super hypo carrot tale... But my question is ! What makes it super or hypo..i think the carrot is a given !! And what's a blizzard?
thanks in advance for your time

according to www.mackleopardgeckos.com
The Mack snow is currently classified as a Co-Dominant trait. The reasoning behind this classification is due to its ability to reproduce itself in 1st. generation offspring and its ability to produce a "Super" Morph when 2 Mack Snows are bred together. When breeding Mack Snows to any other trait except back to itself, the resulting ratios are each egg has a 25% chance of being a Mack snow. when 2 Mack snows are bred together, the ratios are each egg has a 50% chance of being a Mack Snow / 25% chance of being a Super Snow / and 25% chance of being a "normal" wild type. But here's a wrench in the clock work, the "normal" or wild type Mack snows that are produced can possibly also be a Mack Pastel. There is inherently something going on in the Mack snow genes that tends to amplify the Normal/wild type offspring to a extent that they look much better than your average typical wild type leopard gecko. See below for an explanation of the Mack Pastel. All Mack snow offspring will be black / white / and grey in coloration while normal clutch mates will have typical leopard gecko colors of yellow.
If you have any questions about some words in that paragraph ask . I got it from the site deticated to macks because I wasn't quite sure eaither . _________________ Kenny Hogrefe
