I brought home my leo on Friday and as of today (Monday ) she has eaten only 6 mealworms and 1 cricket. How long does it take for them to settle in typically? She is very calm and I've tried to keep the area she is in as quiet as possible.

Typically yes, they do need some time to settle in and some geckos will eat the night you bring them home or some can take as long as a week. I've heard people have problems w/ gecko's not eating for a couple weeks, but more then a week or so I think most likely there's something that needs to be check in the gecko's enviroment ex) heat, hides, something stressing them, ect..) Also it all depends on the age of the gecko b/c young geckos eat more often then adults. Sounds like she's doing good b/c she's eating right away so I'd wouldn't worry. Also it all depends on how and who you get your gecko's from too. How does she look? Alert, bright eyes, decent fat tail, healthy poop?? These are heathly signs to look for when picking out a new gecko. Some gecko's will eat alot when you 1st get them b/c they're very hungry b/c weren't fed a whole alot and feel safe asap and other geckos that are used to eating daily either eat alot right away, or will just pick at food at 1st (kinda like yours is doing) b/c they were fed so well they aren't that hungry, & working on settling in to their new home, in alittle time they start eating more at each feeding as usual. They're all a bit different but typically all my gecko's start eating between 1-3 days of arrival, some eat alot and some will eat less, but the important thing is that they're all eating. Also seems like she likes mealworms a bit more, well is eaten more of them so I'd stick w/ the mealies right now,(esp if she's young) b/c they're higher in fat then crickets w/ just as much nutrients (as long as properly GUTLOADED) so they're faten her up quicker, they're easier for you to work w/ and for her to catch, just put them in a dish w/ calcuim/vit. mineral powder too.. How is she doing now? Starting to eat more? Keep us updated.
