I've had a debate with other breeders about which one to use for incubation of eggs. I have used both but for some reason get better results from vermaculite. With perilite my eggs have dried out faster. What do you guys think or use.

We have used both with good success Wink on each. In our area, perlite is cheaper and easier to come by so we use that.
It is just as easy to get dried out eggs pale with perlite as it is to get mold Shocked with vermiculate. .8 parts water to 1 part perlite by weight works well. With vermiculate, its not necessary to measure, just add water until it clumps in your hand. If it drips theres to much water. With both, open the egg containers once a week to add a little fresh air.
There are other factors as well. Outside humidity sunny and what type of incubator  you use can play a role in the mediums success.
Unfortunatly, trial and error is something we all have to deal with. Suggestion: test your set up using both before adding eggs. thumb right

Hello everyone, I'm new here (not to breeding), just thought that I'd post...

I also use perlite in the incubator; but in the female's humid hides I like to use a mix of peatmoss and perlite. I've had great experience with perlite in the incubator, and have never had eggs dry out! Maybe you're just not adding enough water?

Yep, Thats how we do it. You dont really need a fancy scale though, Walmart sells a good digital postage scale for around $20.00 that works well. Make sure to open up the containers about once a week for air exchange, its easy to over look, but necessary.

i use cocofiber and/or perlite. i make sure that it is moist, but not dripping wet. if you grab a handful, squeeze, and it drips then it is too wet IMO.
